The concept behind the Verona console may seem pretty simple on paper: Low/high shelves plus a mid-band semi-parametric equalizer based on an original vintage tube circuit from the middle of last century. Don’t expect the flattest frequency response, but instead a unique, strong vintage character that will bend your track in a dramatic way, with deep, warm bass and grainy highs to sculpt your sound. Once you add this plugin
to
your mastering chain, you won’t want to go back!
The
mid-band has been custom-extended by London Acoustics from a single
band to an incredible13 bands, which gives the user more flexibility
and a wider range of action.
This
magical preamp has been sourced in 9 different stages of repetitive
sampling. The sampled unit is so rare that its exact model still
unknown; all we know is that it comes from a British
company founded in 1924 that was a pioneer in the the history of radio, amplifiers, effects.
During World War II, the company was temporarily converted to a receivers/transmitters and radars manufacturing plant, in collaboration with Marconi, Plessey, and EMI.
After the conflict was over, they went back to producing audio and other technical gear, purchasing the company Dynatron in 1954 and Ferranti International PLC in 1957.
In the 1960, the firm merged with another, PYE, to form a new company: British Electronics Industries LTD.
