Gainstation is based on a series of hardware units that were carefully selected and modeled by Dean himself to achieve his signature sound. It lets you add power, dimension and juice to your tracks faster and more efficiently than any other plugin chain in your arsenal.
Gainstation features 5 different sections, giving you the ultimate creative control.
Its dedicated preamp section allows you to change the overall input and output levels ranging from -24dB to +24dB. The input preamp trim control allows you to increase and decrease the harmonic distortion of the preamp by easily adding “coloration” to your source.
The EQ section comprises two Pultec-style bands: a Bass++ band, and an Air++ band.
The bass band influences both the low frequency response and the amount of harmonic distortion thanks to its integrated preamp emulation. To increase the level of harmonics, just choose one of the 4 included emulations and adjust it with the preamp input trim control.
We’ve taken Gainstation 2 to a whole new level by adding several powerful features to improve performance and sound quality:
-
A beefed-up
“Pultec-style” style EQ section with 2 new frequencies from a
classic mid-range tube EQ: 700 Hz (affects the Bass++ band), and
1.5kHz (affects the AIR++ band).
- New versatile, variable texture circuits that give a global boost to both the
harmonic content and linear material, and can help breathe life into
the dullest of recordings. - New texture circuit
buttons: Circuit emulation (O=Orange) for more saturation in the bass
and low-mids; circuit emulation (B=Black) that accentuates saturation
in the highs and high-mids; finally, a third mode (OB=Orange + Black)
that serializes both circuits by merging the features of both of O
and B into one.
- An upgrade to Core 17.
- Various plugin optimizations and graphic improvements.
