Erin includes 5 different plugins: a 5-band stereo tube equalizer, a stereo tube compressor/limiter, a midrange tube equalizer, a mono “hyper” compressor/brickwall limiter, and a “hyper” stereo tube compressor/limiter.
The Erin EQ ST is a faithful emulation of an esoteric 5-band stereo parametric equalizer that is mainly used in mastering facilities. Its prohibitive cost makes it difficult to acquire one of your own, yet it’s one of the most revered equalizers on the market for shaping tracks of any genre.
We
sourced an immaculate specimen of this exclusive unit, carefully
sampling it to offer you the same creative firepower that only the
highest-end mastering rooms had previously been able to access.
Each
of the 2 channels of the EQ features 5 bands, hi-shelf and low-shelf
filters with gain, and fixed Q controls. The plugin is also equipped
with 3 boost/cut filters with adjustable center frequency. Either
band or the preamp can be bypassed at any time using the dedicated
button controls.
Erin EQ ST features our new Ultragain
matching technology, ensuring extremely accurate gain mapping on all
bands. It provides even the most demanding mastering engineers with
perfect resolution, consistency, and response, all while retaining
the original sonic character of this sought-after. hardware.
As the name implies, Erin EQ Mid is designed for use on the sound’s midrange, focusing on frequencies between 200Hz and 5kHz. It’sa faithful emulation of an extremely intuitive tube unit made in the UK, and is reminiscent of Pultec-style tube designs.
It features a limited number of selectable frequencies, which are placed closer to each other compared to other EQ designs. This gives you even more precise control over this critical part of the spectrum.
Finally, a colorful preamp stage and dedicated mid/side, left/right controls make it a versatile processor that easily adapts to specialized uses. It works wonders on those sources that live in the midrange of a mix, such as violins, guitars, and vocals.
Erin Comp is a stereo tube compressor/limiter derived from an esoteric mono unit manufactured in the UK, which was designed to limit or compress the signal with the minimum of interference below the threshold. Our plugin version is intuitively simple to operate, and features standard attack and release times.
A strongly optimized behavior around the “knee” of the attack/decay envelope and a euphonically transparent dynamic action make this compressor a top choice for mixers, mastering wizards, and demanding artists with experience in the studio. It’s not by chance that legendary Pink Floyd frontman and guitarist David Gilmour installed two of these processors in his Astoria recording studio.
What's New
with
Erin?
This
new Erin update contains significant new features that improve
performance and sound quality.
These
include:
- 2 new standalone plugins: Erin Mono Hyper Comp and Erin Hyper Stereo Comp.
- New Hyper engine.
- New Hyper compressor/brickwall limiter emulations.
- Improved audio quality thanks to the oversampling available in the Erin mono compressor.
- Less CPU consumption.
- Oversampling (only in Erin Mono Hyper Comp)
- Various optimizations and graphical improvements.
- Resizable interface for the entire plugin suite.
The mono Hyper compressor and brickwall limiter are based on our new Hyper compression technology.
The heart of this plugin is the presence of two new brickwall limiters: the first is more “traditional” and the second more “pioneering” in their respective conceptions. Both were created from samples of analog dynamic processors, which were then converted to brickwall limiters; this is an innovative feature for a product that is characterized by a strong prevalence of limiters using program-dependent digital releases.
We’ve taken the Erin Stereo Comp plugin to a whole new level thanks to our Hyper compression technology. The resulting tube compressor/limiter includes 4 new powerful Hyper compressor emulations, offering faster and more accurate compression with reduced CPU consumption.
