The Emerald Filter expands on the filtering section of its bigger brother, in that it offers low and high pass filter cells with a selectable slope starting at 6dB/oct and going all the way up to the unusual level of 36dB/oct. It also includes the same preamp stage as the equalizer from the same plugin suite.
The Emerald 2 E200 is a dual-mono “homebrewed” EQ emulation inspired by an iconic German parametric equalizer. It features a preamp stage, and 7 individually switchable, fully tunable filters with variable Q ranging, from extremely narrow notch filtering to wide, bell-shaped curves. Plus, it features a +/-12dB gain/cut control, shelving bass (60Hz) and treble bands (10kHz), and low/high-cut filters with 36dB/oct, making this EQ a truly universal problem solver.
It’s no coincidence that this EQ was widely used by many world-class engineers and legendary bands back in the day, including rock icons Pink Floyd.
