Arctic
Free all-in-one mix bus tool! This brand-new “Frankenstein” tool fuses three different processes, giving you a powerful all-in-one mix bus plugin that gets you the exact sound you’re looking for with just a few clicks.

Every year for Christmas, we like to surprise our faithful users with a gift to say thanks for their loyalty and support. A warm welcome to Arctic.

Three Processes, Simple Controls

Arctic represents a whole new way to process sound. It’s an innovative, intuitive multi-effects Acqua plugin (VST/VST3/AAX/AU) which combines a compressor (COMP), a limiter (LIM) and distortion (SAT) in a single, easy-to-use tool for your DAW. From smooth compression to hard limiting to extreme overdrive, Arctic allows you to find the perfect processing for your mix from where ever you are, making your work that much easier.

Mix Faster, Sound Better

We took the best parts of all three processes and merged them into one ultra-lightweight CPU plugin based on Acustica's new, high-performance Hyper technology.

Morphing and Fluid Control

A single “morphing” slider makes it easy to instantly understand how the three processes are being applied to the mix in real time, while the “fine-tuning” controls can be used to make precise, accurate adjustments. It’s the easiest and most straightforward way to get a balanced sound during “big picture” processing.

Note: The compressor in Arctic features two detector circuits working simultaneously. Both are derived from different sampled units and enhanced by our Hyper tech, all within one single dynamics processor.

  • The first, a Peak detector, is characterized by fast attack-release times, while allows you to preserve and manage transients in the mix.
  • The second detector is derived from a slower compressor, characterized by an RMS detector, which features a smooth, natural attack, and less “snappy” behavior than the Peak detector.

Arctic is our first product to feature shape modulation for both the attack (SHMOD) and release time constants, which are “invisibly” incorporated into the morphing control (MORPH).

It’s characterized by very low latency with extremely low aliasing and minimal distortion.
