New Release Mixed & Mastered with 99% AA Tech

Postby markgalup » Wed Oct 11, 2017 4:44 am

Hey folks,

Today my longtime friend and client, Andy Hollinden, released his newest record, which I Co-Produced, Engineered, Mixed, and Mastered (MFiT) with almost entirely AA plugins. It’s packed full of sincerity, enlightened songwriting and production, and huge tones. Check out my favorite track, “Is This The End?”, below on spotify, along with links to iTunes and CDBaby. Hope you enjoy!

SWANG, Brock, you both are very kind. Recorded at several places due to geographical constraints, but I performed and recorded the syrupy EGT parts on the piano ballads, the pedal steel, and BGVs at my studio, and recorded the synths and AGT at my studio in Nashville as well.

Cheers,
Mark

Wanted to point out a crazy little coincidence here to Giancarlo and anyone else who cares:

So I mixed this record with my 1972 Echoplex, and it is on every single lead vocal throughout, as well as many other elements of the mix. First cool thing, it sounds near identical to LEMON’s Autumn In My Heart preset... Second cool thing, the name of the record - Autumn Heart Father - the name of the preset - Autumn In My Heart - and neither party had any idea of that! Wild stuff...

Really a pleasant album to listen to. Speaks volumes of the tech and your collective abilities. Highly recommended listening.

Andy's short bio/film on YouTube is worth checking out as well. It adds a new dimension to the work.

Because it sounds very good...

It would be interesting to know more about the technical aspect:

- Which DAW did you use ?
- How many Aucstica plugs did you use per song ? (on tracks, bus, master bus )
- Which Acustica plugins for which tracks... etc...
Mac Pro 6.1 - 12 Cores - 64Gb Ram - Slave Mac Pro 6.1 - 6 Cores - 64Gb Ram - OS Sierra - DAW Reaper - Clarett 8preX
