here is the next comp with that special auto release 8-) -

Above we see a short pulse going into a fast release followed by a long sustain pulse giving a second stage long release, the second stage release changes it's level depending on material. This particular version is found in Famous VCA comps

here is a teaser! Punchy!
All of the below are set to extreme GR to show differences
Auto is set to a slow attack, thus dual release is kicking in more. After about Two seconds you can hear the second stage adjusting by quite a bit, slowing the overall release by its level.
Fast fast is fastest atttack and release, you can hear it creating the modulation/envelope distotion.
attack 10ms fast release IMO is your classic punch setting

The clips above have no preamp placed after the comp. when preamp is added it gets more complex

I guess that I'll be replacing my current mix bus comp for this one, smh. :cry: Your compressors are undoubtedly the best itb, I don't care what anyone says! Can't wait!
