emErALd was first inspired by two classic machines from the past, both known and appreciated for their unique sound and design; from them it has inherited their quite unusual operating mode.
In the previous HB creations (Scarlet, Ochre...) we revisited some classic schematics, making just a few secondary modifications, such as using up-to-date components and optimizing the circuit for sampling purposes.
This time, the schematic behind this eq is completely new, although inspired by some great classic devices from the 60s.
emErALd bundle includes both a vintage equalizer/filter and an advanced filter plug-in, the best mastering tools we created so far.


Emerald bundle is based on CORE7, the revolutionary multithreding technology by Acustica. It's a fractal approach to partitioned convolution, allows to optimize performance of  Aqua plug-ins  to make maximum use of your system resources…to exploit zero latency.

Emerald BUNDLE is based on  new native Core7 engine.

The Emerald suite is made up of 2 separate Acqua plugins in 2 versions that have gorgeous graphical user interfaces.

This bundle contains:
  • Emerald EQ, Emerald FILTER
  • Emerald EQ ZL(*), Emerald FILTER ZL(*)

The Emerald Eq  is arranged in a system of six modules while a seventh unit contains the input and output amplifiers, 2 filters section and 2 preamps switchable (P-H).

The placing of the controls on the front panel has been designed in such a way as to make the most imaginative use possible of the filter.

The particularity of these EQ is the ability to select the operating mode of each band.

-Pressing the Lin button, the filter is excluded,
-Pressing the A button, it works in passive mode
-Pressing the E button, the section becomes active

On the left side is the bass corrector, while the sixth module on the right contains the treble corrector. On both of these there is a five-key push button strip for selecting the frequencies, while a rotary switch regulates the maximum amount of correction in steps of 3 dB from 0 to 21dB.

By operating the slide switch, the slope of the curve can be set at 12 or 6 dB/octave.

The Emerald Filter expands the HP and LP filter sections already included in Emerald Universal Equalizer.

In addition to the usual 6 and 12dB/octave options, both filters have two uncommon extra slopes: 24 and 36dB/octave (4 and 6 poles). Moreover, both frequency controls are continuous.

The same two preamps available in Emerald eq are at user's disposal in Emerald Filter as well.

The steeper slopes of the filters are very effective in removing unwanted parts of the spectrum, yet may be used in a more creative way in order to change quite radically the frequency content of any given sound.
